What this is and How to proceed

Thank you for joining us as we dig into The Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience, a phenomenal book from the one and only Brené Brown.

A few things to know before we start:

In this book study course, it is expected that you will have your own copy of the book to read/listen to.

We will be reading the book, two chapters at a time and discussing them, along with a special guest on our podcast. You'll hear from an amazing lineup of guests like

  • Ginger Healy LCSW and team member of the Attachment and Trauma Network;
  • Megan Yoder, the Director of the Reno County Learning Center, a program for those who've struggled with getting their high school diplomas;
  • Emily Daniels from Here This Now and author of The Regulated Classroom;
  • Sheila Wendling, Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services at USD 373 in Newton Kansas;
  • Joe Brummer, mediator, facilitator, trainer, and author of Building a Trauma-Informed Restorative School;
  • Dr. Regina Platt, Stepologist, author, speaker, and messenger of hope;
  • Brandi McWilliams, Director of Curriculum and Instruction at USD 418 in McPherson Kansas.

You will mostly likely want to read each section before listening to the podcast, but perhaps you'd like to be drawn into the chapters by the podcast conversation. You get to choose how you approach this book study.

Each section will have a few question prompts to encourage your thinking. We encourage you to spend a few moments pondering your take on each question and topic.
